The Phoenix Cactus Comicon focuses attention on all things sci-fi and fantasy. Comics are certainly at the forefront here, but the event also includes a film festival, martial arts demonstrations, a 6700 square foot video gaming center, a costume contest and masquerade party, an art auction, and more, with about 100 exhibitors. |

In November, 70+ sculptures are added, ranging from stark social commentaries to whimsical depictions of fairytales to the downtown area. Artists are carefully chosen, and come from all over the country. In April, several works are chosen for the city's permanent collection, which is displayed year round, mostly along Main Street. |
